COVID-19 Update | Policies at Schools, Private Tuition & Tuition Centres

⚠️COVID-19 updates on 26 April 2022⚠️

Most COVID-19 measures are easedon 26 April 2022. Following information are updates focusing on schools, private tutoring and tuition centres.




When must students and teachers wear masks?

Persons with "health conditions resulting in breathing/medical difficulties when a mask is worn for a prolonged period" are allowed to use a face shields instead of masks.

Although sometimes persons are allowed to choose wearing masks or not, wearing marks for personal protection and to protect others is suggested.

Are there vaccination requirements?

No more vaccination requirements(hyperlink) to go to school, private tuition and tuition centres.

Since Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures(SMMs) (VDS) is eased, COVID-19 vaccination is not a requirement for physical attendance at school, private tuition at residences and group tuition at tuition centres. Teachers, tutors and students are not required to be vaccinated when they enter those places. For activities held outside school areas, residences and tuition centres, venues' corresponding SMMs and VDS have to be followed (may vary).



Is TraceTogether-only SafeEntry needed?

No, private tuition and tuition centres no longer need to implement TraceTogether-only Safe Entry since 26 April 2022.


 

Tutors/students are advised to only visit other residences if they are fully vaccinated, so as to protect those who are unvaccinated from exposure to the virus.

Food and drinks may be provided to students, regardless of vaccination status. There is no need to designate a dining venue within the centre premises. Individuals should otherwise keep their masks on at all times for indoor classes.

In addition, home ventilation should be improved by opening doors and windows. Fans can be used to promote air circulation when needed.

Tuition centres only have to follow SMMs for workplace. Unvaccinated tutors can enter tuition centres as well. (Click here for advisory on vaccination at workplace) Food and drinks may be provided to students, regardless of vaccination status. There is no need to designate a dining venue within the centre premises. Individuals should otherwise keep their masks on at all times for indoor classes.
